Preventing dehydration involves consistent daily habits. Encouraging regular fluid intake, even in the absence of thirst, is essential. Water remains the best choice, though low-sugar beverages and broth-based soups can also contribute to total fluid intake.

Monitoring urine color and frequency provides a simple assessment tool. Caregivers should observe for sudden behavioral or physical changes. Structured care plans developed with healthcare providers help address individual risk factors and medication side effects.
